As a church caretaker in the Luleå Cathedral Parish, you are an important part of this – you create safety, atmosphere, and a welcoming environment for everyone who visits our parish. You are needed and awaited.

What does a church caretaker do with us?

• You represent the parish in all stages of life – by participating in baptisms, weddings, funerals, and musical events.
• You contribute to creating meaningful meetings and contexts for people and ensure that the church's premises are welcoming for visitors.
• Ensure that everything works in our properties – both inside and outside.
• Responsible for sound and light in our premises and ensure that ventilation/heating works.
• During the winter months, you, along with your colleagues, are responsible for snow removal and ice prevention, while summer involves maintenance of green areas such as mowing lawns and maintaining outdoor environments.
• The church caretakers collaborate with other activities in the parish - we help each other!
• Some cleaning of the parish's premises occurs.

Who are you?

• You enjoy practical work and are not afraid to get your hands dirty. You are a doer.
• You are social, helpful, and enjoy meeting people.
• You have an open mind and believe that the church is an important place in society.
• In connection with funerals, you can meet people in grief.

What do you need to bring?

• A cheerful attitude and a willingness to help. You are hardworking, service-oriented, and easily build and maintain good relationships.
• Preferably experience in practical work – but your colleagues will teach you all the tasks!
• A heart that beats for people and the church's values. It is important to meet both colleagues and parishioners with warmth and respect in word and deed.
• Good administrative skills and computer proficiency are required.
• Completed high school studies, preferably in electrical, construction, and civil engineering.
• Driver's license B.

Other

Work in the evenings, weekends, and holidays occurs. Great emphasis is placed on your personal qualities. The position is a fixed-term employment for one year as a trainee, but there may be opportunities for extension.
